Nasty Cherry announce headline Dublin show

Who the f*ck are Nasty Cherry?

It’s a very good question. Paper Magazine have asked (https://www.papermag.com/nasty-cherry-2624986638.html), and Halsey was curious (http://diymag.com/2019/08/06/nasty-cherry-july-2019), but the only one who really knew for a long time was Charli XCX. The band are the brainchild of the multi-platinum selling singer songwriter who has signed them to her Vroom Vroom Recordings label, an imprint of Asylum Records UK.

Nasty Cherry caused something of a stir when Charli first hinted at the band’s existence back at the start of this year, racking up nearly 10,000 followers in one evening overnight. The band, who write and play all their own music, put their first track 'WIN' out in March accompanied by a sold out show at LA's Moroccan Lounge.

Nasty Cherry are four girls, two Brits and two Americans, with extremely individual and special personalities. They play music which is romantic and bitchy at the same time, like if Robert Smith was created by Andy Warhol in the Factory or The Strokes if they all had vaginas. Someone should remake ‘The Craft’ just so Nasty Cherry can do the soundtrack.

In the band’s spare time you might see lead singer Gabz on the recent cover of Galore or sitting front row at YSL in Paris; you might see bassist Georgia flying planes, loading 18th century muskets or decorating sets for the Star Wars movies; you might catch drummer Debbie touring with Charli or giving drum master classes to girls around the UK or you might catch guitarist Chloe gate crashing the red carpet for Spotify’s Secret Genius Awards.

Having released 4 tracks from their forthcoming EP, alongside 3 sold out shows in LA, Baby's Allright in NY and their headline show at NME's 'Girls To The Front' night in London, the band recently announced that they are also the eponymous stars of a 6 episode Netflix Originals docuseries - which November 15th, just in time for their debut EP, 'Season 1'.

"I'm With the Band: Nasty Cherry" is streaming now on Netflix. In an era where there is no roadmap to success in the music industry, Charli XCX handpicked four women to form the alt pop band - an unconventional mix of seasoned musicians and first timers. The show documents their development through the music industry from moving in together, their first practice, debut single release and first live show.

Not only does the series show you a genuinely exciting look at what it takes to launch a band today...we cleverly managed to use Netflix, the world's biggest TV streaming platform, as the launch pad.

If you haven't already, watch the band on TV and listen to their debut EP now!
