As part of New Year’s Festival Dublin (NYF Dublin), NYF is proud to announce the Countdown Concert featuring Walking on Cars with special guests Ash, Aimee & Lisa McHugh on Custom House Quay Dublin, New Year’s Eve, 31st December 2019- Subject to licence.
Walking on Cars: Following a summer of European festival shows in support of the band’s spectacular new album, Colours. Walking on Cars are back and will headline the 2019 Countdown Concert on New Year’s Eve. The four-piece group from Dingle, Ireland, whose debut catapulted them to fame in their homeland and abroad, have recently completed a sold-out UK tour and a clutch of huge arena and outdoor shows in their homeland, including a stand-out date in Cork’s Irish Independent Park last summer.
Ash: From Jack Names The Planets in 1994 to their most recent album, 2018’s Islands the Downpatrick trio have experienced an incredible twenty-five years; Number One albums, Top Ten singles, numerous awards and world-wide accolades of their achievements reaffirms Ash’s status as one of the most idiosyncratic and singularly exciting artists on this island
Aimee: Dublin singer & songwriter Aimée hit the ground running with her solo, debut release last March. ‘Don’t Bother’ reached No.1 on iTunes day of release, was added to Spotify’s New Music Friday both here and in the UK.
Lisa McHugh: Glasgow born singer/songwriter Lisa McHugh has undeniably authenticated herself as an artist who emulates her country and pop influences. Four of her previous albums went on to chart the top 20 of The Official Irish Charts with her 5th album #Country being the highest peaking at #3.

Now in its eighth year, New Year's Festival Dublin (NYF Dublin) will be bigger and better than ever with 4 spectacular events set to take place over 2 days on 31 December 2019 and 1 January 2020. Dublin City will come alive over 2 days of fun filled New Year's festivities with 3 spectacular countdown events at the iconic Custom House - Liffey Lights Midnight Moment - Matinee, the Countdown Concert and the Liffey Lights Midnight Moment - and on 1 January 2020 families and friends can continue the New Year’s celebrations by kick-starting 2020 in style at the New Year’s Day Concert in Temple Bar, the cultural heart of Dublin City.
