Hot on the heels of their sold out 3Arena shows this month, Picture This have been announced to headline the Countdown Concert at Dublin Castle on 31 December as part of New Year’s Festival Dublin. Celebrate a spectacular midnight moment with Picture This and welcome 2024 with a bang as the skies above Dublin Castle light up with an aerial visual pyrotechnics show! Picture This will be joined by special guests Moncrieff and Lea Heart. Tickets €49.90 including booking fee go on sale this Friday at 9am.

To date, Picture This have amassed over 400 million total streams, selling out stadiums including a five-night stand at Dublin’s 3Arena, headlining Electric Picnic’s Main Stage twice and most recently sold-out their first European underplay tour in 20 minutes plus played 11 shows at Europe’s key festivals this summer. Picture This have announced their long-awaited fourth studio album, “Parked Car Conversations”, due for release via RCA Records, Germany. This album announcement follows the release of new music from the band, including the hit single 'Get On My Love' and most recently ‘Red Lights’, both tracks extending Picture This’ status as hit songwriters after their 18-month hiatus.

Ring in 2024 with New Year’s Festival Dublin, Ireland’s Biggest New Year’s Celebration. Dublin City will come alive in celebratory style as New Year’s Festival Dublin returns, bigger and better than ever. Taking place over 4 days this year from 29th December 2023 through to 1st January 2024, the festival brings together some of Ireland’s best talents for a host of spectacular events set to take place across the city in 3 iconic venues. This year, experience the 4-day New Year’s Festival Dublin in the stunning surrounds of Dublin Castle, the historical National Museum of Ireland - Decorative Arts & History, Collins Barracks and the award-winning architectural space Meeting House Square, in the heart of Temple Bar.

On Saturday, December 30th

Celebrate on December 30th at the National Museum of Ireland - Decorative Arts & History, Collins Barracks - with live performances across 3 stages from headliner Dec Pierce’s Block Rockin’ Beats and special guests Chasing Abbey, Ryan Mack, Jen Payne, HamSandwich, R.S.A.G, Sinead White, Chubby Cat and DJs Emma Power, Shelly Gray & Fergal D'Arcy. On Sunday, December 31st

Rising Irish artists Moncrieff, Lea Heart and Lucy Gaffney have been announced for the Midnight Moment Matinee on December 31st  in Dublin Castle. Share a magical moment on New Year’s Eve together with family and friends at the very special earlier countdown event for all ages. Children will be enchanted as they ring in the new year in the stunning surroundings of Dublin Castle with some of Ireland’s best musicians. Tickets on sale now priced €22.90 including booking fee for a family of up to 2 adults and 2 children with €7.90 for additional / individual matinee tickets. Maximum 4 people with minimum 1 parent/guardian.

On Monday, January 1st

After welcoming in the New Year, make it a full day of celebrations with family and friends and hop between concerts across two venues Dublin Castle and Meeting House Square. Join the festivities at New Year’s Day Concert in Dublin Castle with live performances from Jerry Fish, Dublin Gospel Choir, Code Of Behaviour & The New Brass Kings. Experience some of Ireland’s best traditional and folk musicians in Meeting House Square at the New Year’s Day Concert on 1 January 2024 with performances from Rónán Ó Snodaigh and Myles O'Reilly, Dani Larkin, Niamh Bury and Sola. Both of these events are free, non-ticketed family friendly events.

Office of Public Works and Dublin Castle
The Office of Public Works (OPW) manages and maintains the most important of Ireland’s historic buildings and heritage. We take meticulous care of the 780 heritage sites in our charge and, at the 70 sites with visitor services, we work hard to present them to their best potential, making sure that we give visitors from Ireland and abroad the best experience we possibly can. Just a short walk from Trinity College, on the way to Christchurch, Dublin Castle is well situated for visiting on foot. The history of this city-centre site stretches back to the Viking Age and the castle itself was built in the thirteenth century. The building served as a military fortress, a prison, a treasury and courts of law. For 700 years, from 1204 until independence, it was the seat of English (and then British) rule in Ireland.

Rebuilt as the castle we now know between the seventeenth and twentieth century, Dublin Castle is now a government complex and an arena of state ceremony. Winter In Dublin
Fáilte Ireland unveils its "Winter in Dublin" programme. Building on the success of last year, the event schedule promises to captivate visitors once again with magical experiences spanning from the 1st November 2023 to 31st January 2024. "Winter in Dublin" will feature a lineup of events and activities that are becoming cherished traditions for people all over Ireland visiting Dublin. This includes bespoke nighttime events that reimagine the possibilities for the city after dark, and family-friendly, Christmas and festive occasions with like Christmas at the Castle and NYF Dublin ringing to ring in the new year. There will also be enough live music to fill the month of January.
