The Gaslight Anthem are delighted to announce that they are to be joined by Indie pop songwriter Chris Farren for their Dublin return to the National Stadium on 23rd August 2022.

Born in Florida but currently residing in Florida, Chris Harren first rose to prominence as part of the band Antarctigo Vespucci with his best friend Jeff Rosenstock. He released his debut solo project Ducks Fly Together in 2014, which were quickly followed by two albums Can’t Die in 2016 and Born Hot in 2019. He recently released his latest album Death Don’t Wait (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack), a soundtrack to a fictional spy thriller in collaboration with Rosenstock, Macseal’s Frankie Impastato, and AJJ’s Mark Glick.

The Gaslight Anthem rose out of the fertile punk scene of New Brunswick, NJ, flaunting a unique style that melded the influence of Bruce Springsteen, Wilson Pickett, and various Motown groups with the rough, emotional grit of Hot Water Music and Jawbreaker. The band — comprised of vocalist/guitarist Brian Fallon, bassist Alex Levine, drummer Benny Horowitz, and guitarist Alex Rosamilia — began establishing a hometown audience after forming in 2005, and their soulful punk rock attracted wider attention upon the release of their first full-length album, Sink or Swim. Arriving in May 2007 via the local imprint XOXO Records, the album garnered accolades from punk zines and blogs alike.

The band followed up the success of their debut with 2008’s The ’59 Sound, which publications such as NME and Rolling Stone listed as part of their 2008’s ‘Best of’ lists. American Slang was released a year later, before Handwritten arrived in 2012. During the band’s tour in support of 2014’s Get Hurt, it was announced that The Gaslight Anthem would be taking a break from the band when the tour concluded. In March 2022, they announced their return to touring and that work had begun on a new album.
