CHERYM are a punk-pop power trio from Derry, Ireland turning their joyous chaos into a rallying cry for outsiders everywhere. Built on friendship and DIY spirit, the band formed in 2017 when Hannah Richardson (guitar, lead vocals) and Alannagh Doherty (drums) met at a local gig in Derry. They were then joined by Emer McLaughlin on bass and since then have carved out a bold, inclusive space in the UK and Irish punk scenes.Their 2024 debut album Take It Or Leave It, released via Alcopop! Records, earned widespread acclaim for its sharp pop-punk songwriting. Touching on ADHD, gender identity, reproductive rights and religious trauma, CHERYM write with unflinching honesty—but always through the lens of melodic catharsis and wild, electric fun.

Live, they’ve grown into one of the most exciting acts on the circuit. Championed by BBC Radio 1 and praised by NME and Kerrang! In recent years, they’ve opened for major artists including Snow Patrol, Enter Shikari, The Undertones and Stiff Little Fingers. They've had festival appearances across the UK and Ireland, plus headline runs and support slots with the likes of Bob Vylan, Nova Twins and The Beths, only expanding their loyal fanbase. Now entering a new chapter, CHERYM are gearing up for the release of their second album, all whilst staying true to their mission: to make loud, inclusive music that speaks from the gut and hits like a sugar rush. In October of 2025 they'll be releasing a collaborative EP with Glaswegian queer punk heroes 'Uninvited.'

With every shout-along chorus and fuzzed-out riff, CHERYM are more than just a band, CHERYM are bright, bratty and brutally honest forces of nature. These girls make punk for the moment and for anyone who's ever felt like they didn’t quite fit in.

Get in, loser, we’re dismantling the patriarchy!
