Chewie (FKA Chewing on Tinfoil) have been a permanent fixture within the Dublin underground punk scene for close to 20 years, starting out with playing all-ages gigs as teenagers and then growing into a self-driven band in every aspect; routinely selling out their own self-promoted Dublin headline shows, releasing music through their own label, and booking their own tours in the UK, US and Europe. Chewie have just announced their headline show in The Academy, Dublin on Friday 17th October 2025 playing Marrowbone Lane in full.

Chewie’s live shows are perhaps best described as one huge energy exchange between the band and crowd, with their performances being matched at every turn by crowdsurfing fans and singalongs almost as loud as the band playing through the venue’s PA system. Chewie have built a strong community of loyal and likeminded fans over the years, and this is clearly evidenced by how good-natured and caring the crowds at their gigs are, regardless of how rowdy things can get when the music starts.
In 2013, Chewie released _Marrowbone Lane_, a 12 track album recorded in their practice space that thematically deals with finding your feet as a young adult while navigating the stresses and worries of life in Ireland. Since its release, the album has racked up over 10 million streams and is considered a cult classic amongst in-the-know punk fans worldwide. In 2025, the band will issue a re-release of _Marrowbone Lane_, re-mixed and re-mastered from the original recording session files.
On Friday October 17th 2025, the band will perform _Marrowbone Lane_ in its entirety for the first time ever, at their biggest headline show to date.
