Refused

Following last year’s announcement that their groundbreaking chapter is coming to an end, Swedish hardcore punk icons Refused now unveil plans for a headlining farewell tour — a final, celebratory series of headlining shows across Europe and the UK, marking the end of their iconic career. The tour includes a show in the 3Olympia Theatre on 5th October 2025.

From their formation in 1991 through their initial disbandment in 1998, Refused shattered genre conventions and redefined what heavy music could be — both sonically and politically. Their fearless blend of hardcore, punk, and experimental sounds inspired generations of artists across hardcore, alt-rock, and metal to expand the boundaries of their own creative and ideological expression. After reuniting in 2012, the band continued to leave an indelible mark on the global music landscape.

The tour follows Refused’s recent celebration of a landmark release: on November 8th of last year, the band honored the 25th anniversary of their seminal album The Shape of Punk to Come with a limited collector’s edition packed with rare and exclusive material. The anniversary set featured a 3LP reissue on exclusive colored vinyl, alongside unreleased demos and alternate versions that offered a deeper glimpse into the album’s creation. Also included was The Shape of Punk to Come Obliterated — a 12-track tribute album featuring covers and remixes by boundary-pushing artists such as Quicksand, Gel, IDLES, Touché Amoré, and more. Complemented by liner notes from Dennis Lyxzén and David Sandström, as well as reflections from the contributing bands, the collection provided fresh perspective on the record’s enduring impact and legacy.

This final tour marks the final chapter for Refused — a band whose music, message, and legacy will continue to resonate for generations.

“Gotta love festivals but of course we want to come and sweat and dance with you one last time. We could not be more excited, let's make sure that we celebrate the demise of Refused in grand fashion!!!,” frontman Dennis Lyxzén says.
