On 17th August, 2025, Zakir Khan carved his name into history by becoming the first Indian comedian to perform at the iconic Madison Square Garden in New York, which saw over 15,000 fans fill up the Arena.

Madison Square Garden, often called “The World’s Most Famous Arena,” has hosted history’s most legendary performers — from Elvis Presley to Beyoncé, Muhammad Ali to Billy Joel. To take this stage is to join an elite league of global icons, making Zakir’s debut a milestone not just for him, but for Indian entertainment worldwide.

The following weekends, he also sold over 25,000 across 2 shows at the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, and performed & sold out one of the most prestigious venues, The Chicago Theatre in Chicago.  

Zakir’s approach to comedy is anecdotal, personal and heartfelt, and his delivery poetic and rustic at the same time. His appeal lies in his relatability - he has often said he used humor as a shield when bullied as a child, and his stories are punctuated with phrases that have become catchphrases, including the iconic ‘Sakht Launda’. This has won him a massive following in a short span of time - including 830 Million+ views just on YouTube.

Today, he is celebrated not just as an Indian comedian but as a Global entertainer who has created history by becoming the First Asian comedian to have headlined and sold out  The Royal Albert Hall, London along with performing at Iconic globally renowned venues like the Sydney Opera House, Dubai Opera House, The Theatre at Madison Square Garden in NYC, amongst many others  

Zakir has also had considerable success on OTT’s as well - he has 5 stand-up comedy specials on Amazon Prime Video, out of which ‘Tathastu’, ‘Haq Se Single’ and ‘Kaksha Gyarvi’ are among the highest-rated specials by an Indian comedian, clocking 9.1, 8.6, and 8.3 respectively.

Despite all the numbers, ratings and awards, perhaps his greatest achievement will be how he ushered in a new type of comedy in India & continues to pave the way for Entertainers, while representing India to the world on some of the most prestigious stages.
